March of the Dzerzhinskians

Note: Feliks E^dmundovich Dzerzhinskii was the first boss of the CheKa (Soviet secret police), from 1917 till his natural death in 1926. Through succeeding decades as the organization went through various name changes (Cheka, VChK, GPU, OGPU, NKVD, KGB), and some of its bosses met violent ends (G.G. Yagoda, N.I. Yezhov, and L.P. Beriya), Dzerzhinskii remained in good political repute. Secret policemen were always happy to be known as "Chekists" and worthy heirs of "Iron Feliks."
