ON CRIMINAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE PREPARATION AND SALE OF HOME-BREW
Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR 7 April 1948
For the purpose of establishing unity in legislation about the criminals responsibility for the preparation and sale of home-brew and the strengthening of the struggle with these crimes, the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR decrees:
1. The preparation and keeping of home-brew for the purpose of sale, the sale of home-brew, and likewise preparation [for?] sale as a form of business, of apparatus specially serving for preparation of home-brew --
shall be punished by confinement in a corrective-labor camp for a term from six to seven years with confiscation of all property or some property.
2. Preparation of home-brew without intent to sell --
shall be punished by deprivation of liberty for a term from one to two years with confiscation of the home-brew and the equipment for preparing it.
