Note: the summer picnic outing (#3) and the speakers' bureau (#8) have been inactive for years.


The Atheist Discussion Group

of Greater Boston

1. The ADG is an independent group that brings together atheists of all varieties and backgrounds on a regular monthly basis for socializing, friendly conversation, stimulating debate, and mutual support.

2. The ADG was founded on March 21, 1987.

3. The ADG meets monthly at Harvard University except for an annual "Canoe and Picnic Outing" during the summer.

4. The ADG has grown since its founding in 1987 from 6 to over 15 participants at every meeting.

5. The ADG unites atheists of all varieties, including humanist atheists, disproof atheists, Objectivist atheists, materialist atheists, existentialist atheists, etc.

6. The ADG welcomes atheists from all religious backgrounds, including Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, etc.

7. The ADG seeks to work with all atheist and atheist-oriented organizations in the Boston area, including the Humanist Association of Massachusetts, the Boston Ethical Society, etc.

8. The ADG has a Speakers Bureau prepared to talk on such topics as "The Atheist Movement," "Critiques of the Proofs of God's Existence," "Comparative Atheism," "The Biblical Sanctioning of Slavery," "Disproofs of God's Existence," "The Case Against Creationism," "Atheism and the Big Bang," etc.
